How do i get Endgame turbo to work with winboard engines,Using Crafty for example.do I have to put all tablebase files in a folder to direct it to the right path.If I do so will this create a problem with chessbase engines reading tablebases? I am trying to run tablebases through Winboard.Any HELP would be appreciated. Thanks

You should definatly get a download of Frank's congiguration files at http://www.in-trier.de/~quisinsky/schach/download.htm and look in the Crafty directory, you'll find the file crafty.rc which has in it:
hash 24M
hashp 4M
cache 2M
drawscore=0
log on
book on
book random 1
book width 5
learn 7
resign 9
tbpath=c:\programme\winboard\nalimov
egtb
you can see by the line tbpath that his tablebases are in the directory of c:\programme\winboard\nalimov It doesn't matter what directory you put them in, as long as you tell each program where they are. In my own case they're in the directory of c:\tablebse but Frank would have had a reason for putting them where he did. These are the lines related to the tablebases in his rc file:
cache 2M
tbpath=c:\programme\winboard\nalimov
egtb
Most programs will have a slightly different way to do that, so that's why I'd recommend getting Frank's files (probably still called config.zip?)
Winboard isn't _really_ part of having tablebases, the programs usually have to find them on their own.
Pete
