Hi yes of course, I am always interested!Hi all,
here are the interim ratings for participants in Nunn2 A tournament after 240 games.
It was shown (although most very well know this phenomenon) that there are big differences when calculating after 48, 120 and 240 games each version and there will be another probably minor one after 480 games. So I want to say to any tester: "Do not stop after only 100 games claiming that there are no progresses for a new version or a huge improvement, that later on vanishes more and more". But as we are all greedy for new stuff and there are so many intersting engines, you will rarely see one tested thoroughly, except the top ones. Anyone who wants to know about the statistics or how rating were calculated here, may feel free to email me. Anyone who can give me a hint, how to format the list below better, also.
1 Movei 00_8_158- : 2516
2 Gothmog 0.4.6a- : 2503
3 The Baron 1.2.0b8a- : 2475
4 Queen 2.42a- : 2457
5 Terra 3.3B3- : 2440
6 Cerebro 1.23- : 2416
7 Chispa 4.032- : 2393
8 Dorky 4.0b- : 2383
9 Snitch 0.3.5- : 2375
10 Black Bishop 0.9.2d- : 2338
11 Nullmover 0.23b- : 2338
12 Waster 0.11- : 2286
13 Chiron 0.36- : 2240
This list should include within the next six months any non-commercial version, so that new releases or betas can be compared with also 480 games each. This will be done on two or three computers all same speed (Athlon 2600+).
Next tournament starting already on February 5th will include those I already posted earlier. There is a minor change: DanChess will be postponed as its latest strong version does only run on one of my machines.
I would like to have Averno as replacement, if Jose Carlos agrees that his newest version for CCT6 would be able to compete in this strong field. Otherwise Averno 0.52 would be tested in a tournament with weaker opponents later. Jose, I would be very glad if you want to participate and want 480 Nunn games for your new version against strong opposition and I would also be happy if you write to me in Spanish, as it is my favourite language. Second replacement might be Frenzee, if Sune likes strong opposition. If both are interested tournament will be done with 14 participants.
Who in their right mind would say no to free cpu time?

I'm still working to get it ready for CCT, time is running out and panic
is slowly starting to set in, might have to pull an allnighter

If you can wait until the start of CCT or the day after it would help a lot.
I've been busy with lots of diffeferent kinds of evaluation such as floodfillers, pawn storms and king attacks, things I've always wanted to do.
Although the play is a lot more 'humanlike' (or at least sunelike) now it doesn't seem to have actually improved noticibly in comp-comp games from v.149. No wonder, I keep finding positions that are horribly misevaluated staticly, that's why last minute fine tuning is so crucial.
