Another Horizon beta available...

Hi everyone,
A new beta, Horizon 4.1b1, is now available. Early tests of beta 4.1b1 indicate a vast improvement in playing strength over beta 4.1b0. It also seems somewhat of an improvement over the "official" 4.1 version. It's not so much that the newer beta wins more games, it's the fact that it loses less. I think that the "bad move" problem finally may be solved! I had been looking for this bug intermittently for about a year. It's time to move forward once again!
To all tournament directors: If possible, please play all future/current tournaments using Horizon 4.1b1. Thanks!
Best regards,
Ron

Hi Claude,
In July the Horizon web site computer went down and I lost all the files. When I rebuilt the site in August I put up the wrong opening book. This mistake was not noticed or corrected until Dec 23, 2003. The proper date for the book is Feb 2, 2003.
BTW, there's new beta, Horizon 4.1b2, now available. There will be a new beta available almost every day for the next week or so.
Best regards,
Ron

Hi Heinz,
Wow! I will need to improve by 100 points to be competive with those strong opponents! For now I'm trying to correct bugs. If there is any strength improvements it will be unintentional.
