Hey Volker,
Trust me it's *not* intentional. How are you setting the time? I'm guessing
you're using the "st" command (is that correct). And yes, of course I'd be
interested in the log files. Just be aware that I won't be able to look at
them until next week.

One other item to quickly mention, Djinn, uses a default time of 30secs.
You can change this with the "st" command.

I think that if something is cheating then it is the program that you use to calculate the scores.
A good program should not count solutions unless the times that was used for them is less than 5 seconds
Which program do you use to calculate the results?
I know only about one program epd2wb by bruce moreland that calculates the results and I used a modified version of it by Thomas Mayer that supports also avoid move.

I never assumed that :-).
No and maybe that caused the error. I used

 -test <input.epd> <output.res> seconds/move

as described in djinn\docs\Users_guide.html.
Just sent to you.

Or the operator of that program what wouldn't be the first time.
Epd2wb but only for those program which don't have a build-in "test" command. In this case for Greko and Kanguruh.
Good to know. I will test that one too.
My first impression in general is that the existing testsuite don't differentiate good enough.
A good testsuite would be
1. Valid. It would be nice to find a high correllation between test results and high-quality rating list.
2. Reliable. The results should depend as less as possible from processor speed and solution time.
3. Fast. Nolot for example takes to long to be solved I guess.
4. Avoid unnessacary positions. Most positions in WAC for example can be solved from allmost all engines witin a fraction of a second. I suggest to eliminate these positions.

Do you have a download link? I can't find it on Thomas' site. In addition in my copy of epd2wb the readme tells me:
"...The utility supports the FEN, of course. It also supports "bm" (best move),
which is the most common field aside from the FEN. Additionally, it supports
"am" (avoid move), "id" (name of this test), "fmvn" (first move number), and
"hmvc" (50-move counter)."
Are there any known problems with "am"?

GreKo does have built-in command for solving test suites. It's name is epdtest. It is mentioned in GreKo's built-in help.

GreKo does have built-in command for solving test suites. It's name is epdtest. It is mentioned in GreKo's built-in help.
Thank you I will use that from now on.

I know only about one program epd2wb by bruce moreland that calculates the results and I used a modified version of it by Thomas Mayer that supports also avoid move.
Good to know. I will test that one too.
Do you have a download link? I can't find it on Thomas' site.
"...The utility supports the FEN, of course. It also supports "bm" (best move),
which is the most common field aside from the FEN. Additionally, it supports
"am" (avoid move), "id" (name of this test), "fmvn" (first move number), and
"hmvc" (50-move counter)."
Are there any known problems with "am"?
...
Regards
Volker
I got it by email from Thomas.
He told me that he did not release it because bruce did not reply his email about it and he did not want to release modified version of epd2wb without bruce's agreement.
I do not know if there are legal problems with releasing it without getting bruce's agreement.
I send it to one of my beta testers and I can send it also to you or to another beta tester that I trust in case of an interest in it
In addition in my copy of epd2wb the readme tells me:
I remember in the past that there were problems with am when it treated them like bm.
It is possible that bruce fixed it since the time that I downloaded it and I did not check it.

To be more correct I sent it to one of my beta tester(Luis smith) only after getting permission from Thomas but I get that the same permission is relevant both for you and for another beta tester because based on my memory I did not mention the name of the beta tester in my email to thomas.

should be *guess* instead of *get*
I guess that it is what happens when I hurry too much to post.

No and maybe that caused the error. I used

as described in djinn\docs\Users_guide.html.

That is the error. If I additionally type st 5 it works fine.
