AMD Opteron 242 (1.6 GHz) or Intel Xeon 3.06 GHz ?
Which is faster for computer chess ?
Any Crafty bench,Fritzmarks,Axon bench...will be helpful !

Here is the link where you can compare some test:

I have no figures but I assume in 32-Bit-Mode the Xeon will be faster. I assume that an Opteron 244 (1.8 GHZ) is probably as fast an an Xeon 3.06 GHz and the Opterons 246 and 248 (2.0 and 2.2 GHz) are definitely faster but quite expansive.
As fast as an Xeon 3.06 GHz is an Athlon MP 2800+ (2.13 GHz) and much cheaper (around 190 Euro here in Germany) so I think this is currently the top Price/Performance - Processor.
P4 and Xeons one can easily compare with Athlons because you can multiply the Intel GHz wit 0.70 to get the corresponding Athlon-Ghz for about equal chessperformance. For the Opterons and AMD 64 multiply the Intel-Ghz with 0.63 to get the corresponding Opterond /AMD 64 GHz for equal chessperformance.
