is a complete rewrite considered a upgrade?

I'm the author of the Murderhole chess engine that is in Leo's 6th division right now. Murderhole was written in vb.net and I'm currently writing a new engine from scratch in C. I hope that my new entry is much stronger than my first.
I still haven't decided on a name for my new engine.
but one idea is to call it Murderhole also, and rename the old version of Murderhole to Murderhole.NET.
my question is this, if I do decide to keep the same name for my new engine. how would it be treated regarding Leo's tournament.
Would it be considered an upgrade to the old version and take it's place?
or would it need to wait until the next edition to start competing?
I feel that if it took the place the existing engine, then it would have a chance to win the 6th division. (with lots of luck). but I wouldn't want others too feel like that is cheating.
Thanks,
Eric Oldre

There is no problem Eric, updates are allowed until the start of the tourneys and when one author have more as one engine its his decision which one will play!
Best wishes,
Leo.

A job we are all grateful to you for handling. :)
Thanks Leo,
I think i'll leave the current release in this edition of your tournament. Because i don't think the new engine is quite ready for "primetime" yet, but should be in a couple more weeks.
Also, I got an email from someone who thought that name Murderhole was a bit too harse and suggested I think of a new name for my new engine. If anyone else has an opinion on this, now would be a great time to let me know. :)
