Hello Alexandre,
this kind of emotion is natural for chess players. We lose some, but then we win some. I was a very strong player when I was 16 or 17. Then I lost many games in a tournament and decided not to play chess any more. I did not play for a long time and you can see that I am back and still play. Never say never for chess and please reconsider your decision. From the games you played against programs that you posted here I got the impression that you are very talented.

Alexandre,
I also saw and played over many of your games.
Also went to http://www.angelfire.com/on/anticomputer/acome.html
Anticomputer and followed a link to all your games and went through
them http://www.angelfire.com/on/anticomputer/acome.html.
Anyone that can beat all these programs even once cannot be called
a bad player.
Thanks

I normally lose at least a piece by the end of the opening when I'm playing ColChess.
Now _that's_ a bad player :)
It would be a shame to lose you from the forum....
Cheers,
Col

That is a strange remark. From comments you have made, I think you can see like a GM. Sometimes, I have to puzzle for hours to see the reason for one of your chess puzzles.

Bonjour Alexandre,
ta décision, que je respecte, me fait penser à un planchiste qui dit adieu
à la mer. Les échecs et la mer sont si beaux que le concept de s'en séparer
est dur à comprendre. Ce qui pourrait motiver ta décision est un désir de
perfection.
"your decision which I respect, is like a surfer who says goodbye to the
sea. Chess and the sea are so beautifull that the idea of leaving them is
hard to understand. What could motivate your decision is a search for
perfection."

alexandre,
if you are a weak player then i am not a player at all. i would suggest you reconsider your decission........i think players who play weaker chess then you do writes in this forum (eg. me ofcourse). I dont think its always about how good you play chess. its more about the wish to know about the wonderfull new winboard chess program coming out ;), ofcourse the old ones too.
good luck with your new life (without chess that is )
pavel ;)
