Hi Thomas
I'm very glad, you starting on IPCCC 2001 Paderborn!
You have ghost of a chance for a winning :))
Crux 04.6b is current test version, i'm working a new crux-engine,
that i hope, it live up to expectations, and 150% speedup coming...

Well, I think Quark and Holmes will fight for the same place... :) But where is Crux ? Because then we would fight as a trio... :)
But who knows, all the engines participating and known by me has at minimum lost one game against Quark so far - maybe exactly THAT game will happen ?! (Daydreaming... :)
Speed is not all - your depth looks pretty nice to me, but something must be completely broken in your engine, with that depth it must do much better, I think...
Last result Quark 1.xx - Crux 04.5b 15+ 4= 1- (25 min / Game) Quark does not come much deeper then Crux...

Quark 1.x -Crux 04.6b +7 -6 =3
Holmes 4.0 -Crux 04.6b +4 -5 =7
:), yeh, in particular against ChessTiger must be a fortification...:)
Likely, you are right, but i don't now, where :)
This is a truly big problem...
But I'm hopeful, the new crux engine will be better...

which version of Quark? which book for Crux?

which version of Quark? which book for Crux?
tourney book for Crux...
which version of Quark ? Well, Quark v1.hopefully-100-ELO-behind-Paderborn-Version
Greets, Thomas
P.S.: I DO not know what Dieter has done... but there seems to be no way at all for Quark to break it... wow... I have beaten for example Nimzo 2000b in some games, but no chance against Yace... - another fear-candidate is Pepito, don't know why - but he is not participating in Paderborn... smile... :)

Pepito is a piece of beautiful code. And very advanced like Amy, Yace and Crafty. I predict stardom for Pepito also. Beside which, the author is very nice and modest too. What a good combination.
Everyone should look at the Pepito code also. (Mabye only I can see it, I forget). Anyway, it is really well done.

Nice compliment by someone who has written/read over a million lines of code. I'm heading off for my first thousands :-). Anyway, I don't think Pepito deserves being listed with those programs you mention, but we'll see...

See! Proved my point about modest again.
;-)
If you put in the effort, your program will be easily a 4-crown rating.

Hi Carlos,
Is the Pepito 110 at your site the same you sent me some time ago (e.p. bug, remember)? If yes, I won't bother trying to get access.
Crosswinds.net constantly declines my attempts to get in. The same goes for the Phalanx site, too.
Cheers,
Gábor

Hi,
yes I check today in the evening my engine overview I and II. I saw that Crosswinds have problems. I think a problem from Crosswind ...

Honestly, I don't remember if I tweaked something. You know, I just can't resist a little thing here another there... :-))) Crosswinds site seems to be down since January 8th, I think something related with server updates. You might want to get Dann's binary, since it's significantly faster than my own.

Do you have an EPD position which can reproduce the EPD bug?

Mmmmmm... Let me think for a minute... Any? :-))) The solution should be simple... Ignore any keystroke while running EPD testsuites. Although the right way to do this I still have to fiure out.
