I can't make Patzer_299zt run under Winboard. Does somebody have some information? Parameters? Initialization file? Necessary lines in Winboard.ini? Thanks!
Telmo
NTBPath = Nalimov library
PatzResi = Resign threshold in pawn units
Telmo
My winboard.ini is the following:
"Patzer_299zt ics -hc64" /fd=C:\chess\Patzer_299zt
"Patzer_299zt ics -hc64" /sd=C:\chess\Patzer_299zt
I am including some parragraphs from Arena support:
Patzer has no configuration file!
Parameter = ics
Hashtables via Parameter = -hc128
128 MB for Hash-Tables).
Under Arena we must have (e.g.):
ics -hc64
For Patzer Roland developed an own draw database (bitbases). Paatzer uses also EGTB's (in these times commercial programs did not even think of EGTB's, while there were already several amateurs who used them).
For the configuration some environment variables must be set:
E.g. under Windows 2000:
Start / Settings / Control panel
System / Special / Environment variables ...
BBPath c:\chess\bitbases\
NTBCache 4
NTBPath c:\chess\nalimov
PatzResi 9
This means:
BBPath = Bitbase library
NTBCache = Nalimov cache size
Patzer also writes interesting log files. When he finds the databases, he writes this information in the log files.
Hope this helps
Pedro
