An adapter with uci to wb conversion

I've been trying to use SOS4 with the uci to winboard adapter uci-wb v2.0. The setup with the adapter program is pretty easy. But there is one major problem under these circumstances. Whenever SOS4 losses, it stops making moves but the time keeps ticking. I then have to use the task manager to remove both it and adapter.exe from memory. In fact when SOS4 is checkmated, it does not recognize the checkmate and runs out of time trying to find a move.
There are no other problems.

The title should be "An adapter problem with uci to wb conversion"
I found the same problem with SOS3 and Dragon443uci. So the culpit is the adapter program.

Some years ago, when I was using that adapter (2 versions), I had the same problem.
The rest of the world claimed not to have it.

I've noticed the same problem with SOS3 and SOS4 when running in uci mode, without the uci-wb adapter. So it seems to me not to be an adapter problem, but a problem with SOS.

Here are two recent examples of SOS4 losing on time in checkmate situations in uci mode in Arena, without the uci-wb adapter. Note that in the first example, SOS4 was on the winning side of the checkmate, and in the second example, it was on the losing side of the checkmate. The culprit was not the adapter, since i wasn't using an adapter. It appears SOS has a bug with some checkmate situations.
