Hello,
Enigma plays (or at least tries to play :) ) positionally,
with a human-like style. In my opinion, it is an
interesting opponent for human players. Of course,
there is not much knowledge implemented yet (especially
endgame), but I'm working on it. You can find more
information on my site.
Best wishes,
Kamil

hello ,
to complete the engine description on my site i'd would like your impression about the following engines ...
About their style of play , their agressivity , their positional knowledge....
Gothmog plays rather aggressively, but in a clumsy, primitive and often
very ugly way. It usually just directs its pieces in the general direction
of the opponent's king without much regard to coordination or positional
principles, and just hopes that the opportunity for some tactical shot
will arise.
Tactics is both a strength and a weakness. Gothmog is a slower searcher
than most engines, and tries to compensate by using its evaluation function
to prune unpromising branches of the game tree. The search tree is narrower
and deeper than in other engines. As a consequence, it finds some deep
tactics extremely quickly, but it also happens that rather simple combinations
are not found at all, even after hours of search.
The positional knowledge is almost non-existent. You'll have to look
really hard to find another engine which ends up with ugly pawn structures
and badly placed and uncoordinated pieces as often as Gothmog.
There is still almost no endgame knowledge in the engine, but I plan
to work on this in the near future.
