Hello all,
Congrats to Thomas. When I look at that field, for Quark to end up with 50% is an achievement in itself. In fact, from a points perspective, Quark did as well as Diep, IsiChess and Patzer. Well done Thomas.
On a non-IPCC note, Thomas your GnuChess build is exciting me. Uh, that came out very wrong I think! I have some results but I did not want to distract you from the importatnt IPCC. Now that it is all over, we can discuss things...
I have beta tested a previous incarnation of Yace to the one that played in this competition. Dieter seems to be a relntless perfectionist so I do not know if he will release this version but 3/7 is not bad.
The Baron is a work in progress and my only consolation is that it will be back. I know it.
The authors I suspect will have their own comments but my main question is this:
When do we get the free stuff?
Hey, I am sorry but it is all about the free stuff after these competitions. Yes, only the free stuff. Give me that stuff, that free, that funky stuff, give it to me, give it to me, that.....
What's that? Stop the %$#@@!! noise I call singing? Oh, I am bringing the position of moderator into disrepute? O.K., I will be more serious from here on in....
:-)

Later.

thank you, I think it was a quite good tournament for Quark, especially when I look in the games. It missed some chances to do even better, e.g. the finally drawing moves like c4 and especially c5 against Anaconda in the last game. c5 is maybe not so complicate to avoid, there was some wrong knowledge which is in the particular position not right.
Also I think Quard had at one point quite good winning chances against Ikarus but made some mistakes which at first lead to a drawish position and later even to a loss... In my opinion even against Diep there were some drawing chances, but I have not really analyzed the game yet. So I am very satisfied with the games it has played... And of course it was Quarks best performance so far at any IPCCC !
well, to me the time control problem seems to be solved, so I will built soon a final release of it. Maybe Leo Dijksman can host it then.
:) to speak about Quark I did plan a release in the near future... I will keep you informed in the winboard forum. Since I am quite happy with Quarks performance there is even some posibilities that I will play at the CSVN-championships in late April, we will see...

I like Quark's play. It almost seems playful sometimes. I do have one microscopic dissapointment.
No 1. b4 games from Quark. But then, why monkey around.

hehe, during WCCC I was near to give the monkey again a try, but I hadn't enough material on my laptop so I quit with it... even during IPCCC now I spent some thoughts on b4... more or less I am sure that I will give it a try again sooner or later... on the other hand I do not want to destroy my 100% score so far at tournaments with that opening... :) Also Vincent would call me a fool when I do it again... :) (But of course with a smile in his face :)
