Hi all:-),
starting soon (deadline next Sunday) there will be finally the Nunn Elite Amateur Tournament with Nunn positions and 24 participants, giving 920 games to each engine.
Ruffian 1.0.5
Smar Think
List
Crafty
Aristarch
Crafty
Gandalf
SOS for Arena
Ktulu
Delfi
El Chinito
Yace Paderborn
Kaissa
Pepito
Little Goliath
Anaconda
Pharaon
So there are seven free spots. I could do the following:
a) write to authors of private engines like Zarkov to have them in, what will probably not have a lot of success
b) add some that are not really absolute top, but that I did not test so far, like Ikarus and Knight Dreamer
c) take the seven top seats of my Nunn rating list to have really the strongest in, of course Thinker, GLC, Slow Chess, the new AnMon and WildCat etc. would also fit well in here.
For Crafty I would need an advice which might be the strongest version, as I did not test the newest ones so far. The last ones I gave a longer test were versions 19.03 and 19.04 and here I got very good results for those Mike Byrne Special Editions with Capablanca, Fischer and Morphy personalities. On the other hand I read good results for Crafty 19.10.
As I want to have all engines in with ELO 2200+ there will also start a D-Tournament at the same time with 480 games for each engine. I hope that the following are interested:
Cheetah
Tinker
Trace
Ufim
Greko
Eeyore
BigLion
Drunken Master
Bestia
Four more are needed. So anyone who thinks that his engine would fit in here should write to me. Of course I will prefer those ones taking interest and not add some engines were the authors probably do not even take a look at the results.
This evening Nunn C will be updated.
Pyramid challenges:
Cerebro challenges Terra (might produce a nice chain reaction :-))
corrected...Eeyore challenges Tinker
For Waster I need other opponent as Djinn is not available
All with a challenge in cycle 1 will automatically be assigned an opponent at deadline (tomorrow midnight), but not those who never challenged anyone, so please do it once and for all times.
Please note that this is only a fun tournament, has nothing to do with all those serious, nice and interesting tournaments like WBEC, RWBC etc. where I am myself one of the biggest fans for a long time already.
Best Regards
Heinz
