Well, maybe this one time but do not let it become a habit!

Could you possibly say a word or two about the new Thinker books? I am always on the hunt for books to use with my Winboard engines that do not have a book of their own.

Could you possibly say a word or two about the new Thinker books? I am always on the hunt for books to use with my Winboard engines that do not have a book of their own.

The Thinker book used for The King is 30 plies deep and created from a slightly pruned PGN collection consisting of approx. 160.000 games from 1980 to 2004. The rating condition is an average of the two players > 2400. The second Thinker book is a new creation without any pruning whatsoever. Mainly because it's only 20 plies deep. Basically, 60.000 wins with both colors (1990-2004). Rating is 2400+ for white wins and slightly less for black wins. Intended as a broad book for unbooked engines to make it past the first 15-20 plies without too much thinking of their own (and without getting lost in a deep variation).
