YML/EML under Arena
===================
Arena can be of use to obtain games for YML bench because it allows you to
set the following option:
"Adjudicate a draw when N moves played."
For Yace book I have (of 7.9Mb) the longest book line is 20 moves. So I set
the option to 30 moves because only first 10 out-of-book moves are needed
for bench.
YML is calculated by yacegam.pgn. But you may also use Arena PGN files
(with depth values) to calculate mean level for any engine (EML) using matches
of the engine vs itself (during 5 move - for both sides).
Here are the figures I get for my first computer.
General conditions:
-------------------
Celeron 567MHz 128MB; Yace 0.99.56, book of 7.9 Mb, hash 38
Time control: 1m+3s; Arena GUI
YML=7,69 of 10 games
Time control: 5m+3s; Arena GUI
YML=8,24706 of 17 games
Time control: 15m+3s; Arena GUI
YML=9,065 of 20 games
Time control: 30m+3s; Arena GUI
YML=9,63 of 20 games
Time control: 80m+3s; Winboard (by games of the Long Infinite Loop)
YML=10,1938 of 16 games
To be continued...
