I could not reproduce the problem. "Alex16003" runs either as first engine or second engine under my version of winboard (WinBoard 4.2.6). FYI, The operating system I used is "windows 2000 pro".

Hi,
I have the same problem with UCI Engine
Automatic tournament under Arena or CB GUI, Alex doesn't run. It doen't make a single move.
But it runs in a game vs human.

Hi, the same here. Under Arena in tournament mode it plays its first match with white. All goes fine, but playing with black it stops. The same under the Fritz GUI.
I already notified the writer.

Here(WIN98) if I start Alex in console mode and enter:
level 0 1 0
go
it always crashes...
In UCI mode with Polyglot in engine-engine match it waits until ethernity.
Against human it seems to play ok.
