Hi,
Trying to analyze a series of positions Shredder often switches back to immediate mode and says that it is not registered. However, I find it impossible to register the demo version because of the lack of code number. Can anyone suggest a way to overcome this difficulty?

Hi,
If i'm not mistaken you have to pay fot rhe registered version!
It's €29,95 and if you visit the shredder homepage you can see how to do that!
Greetings, Raymond
Thanks, I know, but it was announced that the demo version is free for 30 days, with "slight" limitations. Yet I have to restart the machine after every 5 positions because of the problem described above.

Gábor
Sorry, here is the "solution" (copied from the Shredder webpage):
Sie können in der nichtregistrierten Version keine Partien und Stellungen speichern und werden ab und zu zum Registrieren des Programms aufgefordert. Nach einiger Zeit wechselt die Engine von Shredder Classic in der unregistrierten Version auch immer automatisch auf die einfachste Stufe. Nach 30 Tagen müssen Sie sich entweder registrieren oder das Programm von der Festplatte löschen.
In English:
With the unregistered version no games and positions can be saved, and the user is regularly warned to register. After some time the engine switches to the most simple mode. After 30 days you have to register or delete the program.
Well, "regularly" means approximately every 5 minutes. A bit annoying even from a demo version.

unfortunately the "slight" limitations are a bit harsh :-(
An automatic test of epd-Suites is also not possible.
