Here's an interesting position from Arasan-Amateur in your gauntlet. Black has sac'd a piece for a pawn plus position (all in book). This position is a couple of moves out of book, and white is in some trouble. Avoid move Kh1. (Amateur wasn't smart enough to proceed correctly after Kh1, but the position was such that it still was able to win.)

Chess Tiger 15 fails low on ply 14 (1 min. 15 seconds on my machine) and switches to Rf1 at 2:06.
Arasan has 16 .. dxe4 (Emms-Rausis, Le Toquet 1992) in its book.
It is possible that after 16 .. Re8, White has a better move than exd5. Tiger
likes Nd2, predicting Nxd2 Bxd2 Be3 and White seems to be ok.

Well, looks like you'll have to add 16... Re8 (Arasan-Amateur, AndyC 2004) :)
Yes, 17.Nd2 seems like the best move. So it appears that the sac is playable, but not convincing. I wonder if the game appears in any database with 16... Re8 17.Nd2?
