The world's strongest free winboard program could easily be SmarThink 0.17a. For a very long time now, we have seen steady and very impressive improvements from a powerful program.

It is not only about GCP.
All the results that I read suggest that Ruffian Leiden is better than
Ruffian2.

Maybe so, but that version is not generally available. Hence, we cannot reproduce the experiments.

outside europe it seems to be complicate and very expensive. According to CCC several have purchased Ruffian but wait for it since weeks... I think with the amount of money Niggemann wants to have for shipping he should send them by air-mail which seems to be not the case...

The world's strongest free winboard program could easily be SmarThink 0.17a. For a very long time now, we have seen steady and very impressive improvements from a powerful program.

I agree that SmarThink is something special and for some time too....


GLC received my vote for the engine most under-buzzed whenever strong engines are discussed. I think the engine takes its cue from its equally retiring author who scarcely comments. No problem.
His engine speaks volumes.

Recent results of Yace Paderborn make me wonder if it is the strongest version of Yace.

I second this opinion. However the author is so formidable a programmer that it would be incredibly silly of me to offer a comment if he thought it was the best at the time when he released it...
