Promo C tourney:
Round 1:
First results tomorrow!
Leo, I have a question.
This promotion tourney is with Terra and Cerebro, but it was Betsy and Scidlet that won the rights as they finished in the blue part of the spectrum.
It seems you have changed the rules, or is it a mistake?
My guess is that you have removed a few buggy engines from the divisions higher up and that gave room for additional promotions because you want a specific number of engines in each division, I can understand that.
However one of the most interesting aspects from my POV was of course if Frenzee would manage to finish ahead of those two and earn the right to fight for promotion.
I must admit I feel a bit silly about that now, it seems in hindsight that Frenzee was never in any real danger of not promoting.
In the future, is there any way it can done in a way so the promotion lines can be trusted to apply for next round?
I can imagine other worse senarios, e.g. suppose one engine fights for promotion and gets it (turns blue), but in the mean time a very strong new engine is released. This engine gets put into a group higher up, but now everything is shifted one notch down and the blue guy doesn't get his promotion after all.

-S.
I did not change the rules.
Its because some higher ranked engines are taken out:
WBNimzo (Premier), AnMon (1st) and List (2nd), in all cases because the have one or more bugs and the authors dont want (can) fix them.
That means you are 100% sure Frenzee finish at the top 3 here?:
Esc 1.16
Knightx 1.81
Butcher 1.42c
Frenzee 149
Terra 3.3 b4
Cerebro 1.23a
I dont see what you mean here, the first 2 of the "blue" lines are directly promoted now and rank 5 and 6 replace them at the promotion tourney!?
Ofcourse its not as expected but you can hardly blame me if a author dont want or can fix his own engine, there are still some buggy engines in it like Rebel 12 which will be taken out if its not fixed before the next edition is finished, I should have take it out already if Ed had not prommised me that he will fix it.
Wrong, in all cases the "blue" (normally rank 2,3 and 4) engines fight at an promotion/relegation tourney between two editions, if a new engine is added the
changes are made at the bottom of all lower divisions, not on the top of them!
Take a look at the setup page, there is a example how it should be done.
Best wishes and Goodluck at the promotion tourney,
Leo.
