Hi,
Well,my first impressions about Djinn 0.848 are good!It has a balanced plating style
with a little bit "more" tactical orientation!I said "more" because sometimes is makes
obvious tactical mistakes!
Look at game 1 & 4 and you'll discover that it plays very active with it's queen, but
suffers from the so called "the pawn eating disease" which is very common among
humans too
There is some kind of weakness in the king safety too....game 4!
Of course Junior 5.0 is a hell strong engine and the fact that Djinn managed to steal
half point is a good sign!

Dr. WAEL DEEB,
Thanks for the kind words and the initial feedback. This is the type of
information that is invaluable to a programmer. I also agree with you that
it is a fine line between being too greedy and just greedy enough. Making
the program understand that it may come under a strong attack if it eats
too many pawns is an interesting (i.e. difficult) problem to get right.
Still it is fun trying.
Once I get off of my business trip and back home next week I'll analyze these
games. I might have a question or two after I do, so be prepared.
regards,
--tom
P.S. Hopefully, all Djinn's opponents won't be quite as tough as Junior!!

Hi Tom,
No problems at all,I am with you all the way
I think that Djinn 0.848 is a very promising program and I won't say it if I don't think so!I also think that it will smash most of the remaining opponents in this edition of BasicLeague, including myself!
Note that these series of BasicLeague are randomly selected considering the participating engines! When it's over, the engines enter my rating list where they continue their struggle!
Regards,
Dr.WAEL DEEB
P.S.I'll publish my rating list propably at the end of this summer! It's a very special rating list, you can count on it
