Hello,
in merlin Homepage i saw BESTIA in a list of "others Hungarian Chess Engines" .
I was thinking That Bestia was originated from Ukraine ....
If Bestia is hungarian then the Hungarian team would be reinforce for Olympiads!
Where is the truth ???
Regards
Nicolas

Hello Nicolas,
in the readme.txt from Bestia we can read :
I was born at August 10, 1962 in Mukachevo(Transkarpathia,Ukraine).
Hungarian by nationality.
Your question is good.
It's the same problem for Thor's Hammer.
For example, Toma Roncevic is living in Italy and he is coming from Croatia.
You can write it in your rules.
Origin of the author or state of living to attribute the country ?
You have the choice
For example, Green Light Chess should be spanien because Tim Foden is living in Spain (Costa Blanca) but he is english.
Best wishes
Claude

Hi Nicolas,
Difficult question, and the best one to answer is George himself.
George was born in Mukacevo, Ukraine. I believe he is Ukrainian by citizenship, but he considers himself Hungarian by nationality. There is a big Hungarian minority in Ukraine due to historical reasons.
Bestia took part in two Hungarian championships. Bestia is a Hungarian name.
Now, it's your choice. I think Hungarian would be in accordance with George's intentions.

George's answer : Bestia is Hungarian ! (n/t)

Hello Telmo,
I agree with you, the author is the best to choice the country.
My idea was also to give the choice to Nicolas and he could give the statement in the rules
It was only a suggestion.
Best wishes
Claude
