Pepito problem

Pepito is probably a notch too strong as a sparring partner for my engine,
but today I felt optimistic and wanted to give it a try. In the first game
Gothmog managed a lucky shot on the kingside from a dubious position (I'm
surprised that Pepito didn't see that 25... exf5 loses instantly), and won
quickly.
At the end of the game, Pepito crashed. There were no interesting or
useful information to be found in the xboard debug output. I've found
that the crash is reproducible. When I start Pepito in xboard and use
"Edit Game" to enter the moves until 26. Nxd5 and let Pepito play black
from there, it always crashes directly after resigning the game.
Is this a known problem? Is there a good way to solve it? In case it
is relevant, the game was played using xboard on a Linux machine.

Using winboard, I can't reproduce the crash. It appears that Pepito sends a move to winboard after resigning, which perhaps causes different behavior in xboard. btw, why not enter the moves using Paste game from clipboard, and the arrow keys?
