Hi Fabien,
I liked so much your post about fruit playing chess only as a side effect
I would like to test it at 2 hours per game in this tournament:
BasicLeague_SE Patriot 1.0.5 b5
Hardware:AMD Athlon(tm) Processor 1400Mz,512Mb Ram,
hashtables=128Mb for each engine!
Software:Windows XP Professional,GUI:Arena 1.0!
Nalimov EGTB:all 4 pieces and most of 5 pieces!
Conditions:
Time controls:2 hours per game!
Each engine plays 4 games against all other engines!
Ponder off!
Learning enabled!
No adapters are used!
No frozen,or out of time games!Just clear cut results!
*Participate 9 engines!
**Every engine starts with 1800 ELO,which is calculated manualy using FIDE calculating method!
Patriot 1.0.5 b5
Movei 0.08.174
Movei 0.08.174_PrBk
Gambit Tiger 2.0 {Board computer}
Abrok 5.0
Comet B.68 Paderborn 2004
Amy 0.8.7n
Fruit 0.98_PrBk
PrBk means that the engine uses my own creation Power_Book for opening lines!
Note that there are two versions of Movei, one playing with it's own book and the other plays with my Power_Book!
The only problem is that I can't access Dan's site,so please send me your latest stable version that you want to test by e-mail!

Fortunately everybody will think I was joking :)
I don't like the idea of having two similar engines, but I understand you want to test the contribution of your book; so be it ...
Fabien.

Oh, and I expect Fruit to come last BTW.
It is not yet ready for Movei I think, and the other engines are way too strong.

Uri,
Do you understand that Fruit will play without a book?

Fabien.
No it will play with a book as Wael said. He wrote he will use
a book creation by his own for Fruit.
Note that I dont use books for programs which are not delivered
with books for RWBC. OTH I have no problem to add a book created
by me (with BookThinker by Lance Perkins), IF the author sends
me a pgn or authorizes me to make one for his program in case
he has none.(and if it doesnt harm the timing of the program)
Right now I use a book made by me for TheKing i.e. though it's
a different case as TheKing is sold with a book, but it cant
be used under WB.

Günther

I see.
It looks like this BookThinker is pretty popular ...
Actually having the book code separate from the engine suits my design very well.
Of course I guess BookThinker does not handle learning, or does it?
Fabien.

For Lance Perkins too

not yet;) May be Lance is thinking about this some time?
Moreover I take the opportunity to ask if Lance perhaps
has plans to allow nags in the pgn (i.e. '!' '?') too
for book making in the future?
One reason for my question is that I have the original
CM9K book as pgn with nags. Other reasons are of course
that it allows you to make better books at all as one
can guide the program through lines for Black _and_ White.

Günther
