Hi,
UCI League B-3 has just started. I changed the list of participants, after my first impressing results I wanted Ktulu to start in League A but now I think League B is the better choice. As ever you can follow the games Live, currently running: Amyan vs. Gothmog.

The database is my own. It contains:

I has far less blunders than the other books I have made.

Is the database available? Maybe the database is fine, but the book does not work well for me. I got lot of 1.d4 d6 2. Nc3 and out of book or 1.e4 Nf6 and out of book or 1.Nc3 c5 2.g3 out of book and so on. I did not change any values in book management.

Isn't a minimum of zero for won games too dangerous?
Even GMs +2650 sometimes play predefined blunder games
or strange draw games which must be filtered out too.
(which is a very time exhausting task )
Also Arena has no idea about transpositions, thus the problem

thanks, I will give it a try! In this tournament Shredder used the 'Runge-book' from the Arena site, but it contains some bad lines. this might be an explenation for Shredders bad result. At the moment I try Dr WAEL DEEB's book.

If I am black and playing an equal, I will love to find a draw.
If the points by win percentage are not good enough, it won't be played, which should remove blunders.
I have not read that yet.

From which database did you create this book with which parameters?

The database is my own. It contains:
1. Super GMs of 2650+ OTB at 40/2 (carefully filtered for blitz, simul, blindfold, etc.)
2. Computer games at slow time control between top programs
3. Top correspondence players.
I has far less blunders than the other books I have made.

Is the database available? Maybe the database is fine, but the book does not work well for me. I got lot of 1.d4 d6 2. Nc3 and out of book or 1.e4 Nf6 and out of book or 1.Nc3 c5 2.g3 out of book and so on. I did not change any values in book management.

When you say that you did not change any values in book management, do you mean that you used my values or did you use the Arena default values?

I just loaded it and did not change the values. My Arena-VErsion (1.08) loads the default values aou put in the first time I open the book:
Minimum Games: 5
Minimum wins: 0
White Quote: 54
black quote: 46

Priority: 3rd mark
number of games: 5th mark
quote: 6th mark
With these values only e4,d4 and Nf3 will be played and after 1.e4 g6 there are two moves in the book (d4 and Nc3) but both with a winning quote of 50% so that they will not be played.
I started ten games and aborted them after the last book move. I got:
1. e4 g6
1. d4 Nc6
1. Nf3 c5 2. g3
1. e4 Nc6
1. e4 d5
1. d4 d6
1. e4 Nc6
1. d4 Nc6
1. d4 Nc6
1. e4 d5
So after the second or third ply out of book

Yes. The win percentage I quoted should be a win percentage for total points.
36% for white wins
25% for black wins
are more reasonable values.
