i think one need a lot of luck to promote since
only 5 are allowed and the engines competing are very close
in strength. just look how close engines down to rank 20 are.

Agreed, only the top three slots seem set. I've been really
impressed with Snitch of late, it seems that Klaus has made a lot
of solid progress over the last year.

but still there is some (little) hope.

yeap DanChess is practically out. But it is still promising that
it reached this point.DanChess will come with a better one for the next edition of RWBC , after 6 months or so.

Sorry Daniel,
It was probably *my* english (which is supposed to be my native tongue).
When I posted the response I didn't actually know who had won or lost.
I just think DanChess is a promising engine and with a bit of luck
he could easily qualify. It's still possible I think, but the amount
of (good) luck required may have increased. Still, with four rounds to
go, anything is possible.
And don't discount my predictions, since I prognosticated from the
start, that Fruit or Zappa would win the whole thing.
