Well, run WinBoard with the option -debug, and post the winboard.debug file, then...

I tested it just now on my Quad core WINXP-32bit and it worked fine. But as HG said we need much more info about the failure.
Besides a WB debug it would be good to know which cpu/OS you are using. It could well be that it doesn't run on certain old
cpus as I see the 32 bit version is not tested at all.(I assume you also have a 32bit system?)

Hi Guenther and H.G.
My PC datas are:
System
Windows XP Professional in spanish
Version 2002 Service Pack 3
32 bits
Equipment
Intel (R) Celeron (R) M CPU 440 @ 1.86GHz
1,99GB of RAM

Apparently the official version of Bearded44441 is for 64bits, so I tried the alternative Untested version.
I hope the following debug text may help for the problem.
Regards,
Pablo

The windows.debug file shows:

Well, so it seems you ave a Bearded executable that crashes as soon as you start it (after printing an empty line). Not much WinBoard can do about that. Complain to the Bearded author...

Hi H.G. and Guenther,
I contact the author and told me that I was deleting by mistake the file "my_name.txt" that is needed by Bearded engine. I try then the std Bearded44.exe and the Bearded44 Never tested version, and the never tested play OK but the std version definitively did not work in my PC.

Isn't the bearded44.exe a 64bit version?

I only have one computer for testing chess program.
A test version will only 64bit.
Experimenting with the techniques of AI so the program can have a variety of supporting files.
These files are not compatible between different versions.
Please do not delete it or replace these files.

sorry, my english is poor :)
