I agree. Unfortunately the engine doesn't run here (W2k, 2GHz). Bug report send to the author.

It seems to run fine here (win2000Pro), the problem can be the popup when it starts and Ponder=on by default?
Best wishes,
Leo.

The engine runs fine at me under Win98 SE. Disturbing thing is only the popup when starting.

Hi Volker,
I reproduced "your" error, it seems the time level command.
If I set 5 minutes game I get the same as you got, 40/5 which I used works fine!

it seems that the engine does not support fisher time control
It is similiar to list4.61 except the fact that this engine does not know not to ponder when list does not know to ponder.
some results of it:
1.5-.5 against movei00_8042 at 5 minutes/40 moves ponder on.

Now 1.5-1.5
I am not going to play more games with it today
In the last game it seems that ktulu suffered from a bug because it evaluated 0.00 in the beginning of KRBP vs KB that was a clearly won position for movei

it seems that the engine does not support fisher time control
It is similiar to list4.61 except the fact that this engine does not know not to ponder when list does not know to ponder.
some results of it:

Now 1.5-1.5
I am not going to play more games with it today
In the last game it seems that ktulu suffered from a bug because it evaluated 0.00 in the beginning of KRBP vs KB that was a clearly won position for movei

Another bug that I found is that it seems that ktulu did not leave memory after the third game.
I quit winboard and went back to winboard(this time without ktulu)
and I found that movei was slow than what I expected in nodes per seconds.
I discovered that the reason was that ktulu used 1/2 of the processor time so
I killed that process.
Movei missed a win in the first game and I wanted to see if movei can find it by deeper search.
8/8/8/K7/6N1/p1P2k2/2Q3q1/8 w - - 0 150
Movei could win by trading queens but played Ne5+
Movei also cannot go deep in that position(maybe too many check extensions) and even after 10 minutes it still does not have a score at depth 10.
Note that ktulu expected Qxg2+ but movei fails to find it even at tournament time control.

Frenzee doesn't find Qxg2 either without tables, but with tables it says mate in 20.

Note that more analysis suggest that the losing error was later but Qxg2+ was still the simplest way to win.
The last simple win that movei missed seems to be 153.Nf3+ or 153.Ng4+ and 154.Qxh3+
8/8/7Q/K3N3/8/p1P4q/7k/8 w - - 0 153
